Partnership in Action: How ZEO Energy Builds a Smarter Solar Business with Enerflo

ZEO Energy Team

At Enerflo, we're proud to partner with solar companies that put homeowners first. One of those partners is ZEO Energy, a publicly traded solar company founded on the belief that doing right by the customer is a competitive advantage. We sat down with Brandon Bridgewater, CSO and Co-Founder, to learn how Enerflo supports ZEO's growth and operational excellence.

The Challenge

When Brandon Bridgewater and his co-founder Kalen Larsen launched ZEO Energy in 2019, they set out to build a different kind of solar company—one focused on integrity, transparency, and long-term customer success.

"The thing that doesn't exist in solar today is there are very few companies that their goal is to do right by the homeowner. We can sell solar well. We don't have to make insane commissions. If we just provide a good service, the company will grow."

As ZEO expanded, maintaining that standard became more difficult. The company relied on a patchwork of separate systems for proposals, designs, site surveys, financing, and documentation. Managing multiple tools created inefficiencies and made it harder to scale smoothly.

For ZEO, accuracy was especially critical. Their investors require Aurora-backed designs, making reliable proposals and production modeling a non-negotiable part of the sales process.

The Solution

ZEO consolidated key parts of its operation into Enerflo, creating a single platform for proposals, system design, site surveys, financing workflows, and document management.

"We used to use multiple different tools—different softwares, different financers, different products. Now we can do the proposals, the designs, the site surveys, the doc signatures, all finances all in one place. It's allowed us to scale more efficiently."

One of the biggest advantages has been Enerflo's Aurora Solar integration.

"The ease of integration with Aurora has been huge. It ties Aurora into the proposal and makes it significantly more accurate, so we know we're actually providing something that is going to produce what we say it's gonna produce to a customer."

ZEO also relies heavily on Enerflo's deal process gates to improve quality control and reduce errors before projects move through the pipeline.

"Requiring a perfect packet before submission stops a lot of those dirty deals from moving through the process. It allows us to make sure that any job submitted has everything attached to it that we need to push it through the pipeline smoothly."

In addition, Enerflo's gross and base PPW pricing structure helps ZEO maintain cleaner commission management within its TPO business.

The Results

Zeo Energy YoY Growth.

The impact of consolidating operations into a single platform has been significant (YoY growth reflected above).

By reducing reliance on disconnected systems and creating more standardized processes, ZEO has been able to scale more efficiently while maintaining the customer-first approach that defines the company.

Since its founding, ZEO has grown from a small dealership into a publicly traded company, completing its public listing in 2024. The company is currently on track for 38% growth this year.

For Brandon, the value extends beyond operational efficiency.

"Get on a tool like Enerflo that integrates with the financiers you need and the proposal tools that you need so that you can guarantee efficient processes, accurate proposals, and speed from sale to installation and financing."

Lessons Learned

One important lesson during implementation involved shading analysis. ZEO initially used Aerialytic for certain workflows but found that Aurora provided more reliable production estimates in projects with significant shading conditions.

The takeaway: understand your shading environment before selecting a design tool, and leverage Aurora Solar (and/or another highly accurate design tool, such as Scanifly or Solargraf) when investor-grade accuracy is required.

Looking Ahead

As ZEO continues to grow, Brandon sees adaptability as one of the most important qualities in a software partner.

"So far you guys have been really flexible with the changes that we make. We figure out an issue, we need to make a change, and it feels like it's a pretty quick transition."

For ZEO Energy, moving from scattered tools to a unified platform didn't just simplify operations—it helped create the foundation for scalable growth. As both companies continue to evolve, the partnership remains focused on delivering efficient processes, accurate proposals, and better outcomes for homeowners.
